A VAT bill is currently being reviewed by Thailand’s government which would introduce a 5% withholding VAT on all eCommerce goods and service transactions. If introduced the new tax would be charged and collected via banks and credit card companies in the country, instead of suppliers. It would also apply to both resident and non-resident providers of these types of goods and services.
